BIOGRAPHY:
Kuda Tigere Tandi, born in 2005, is an emerging Zimbabwean sculptor and a proud fourth-generation member of the esteemed Tandi family of stone carvers. He is the great-grandson of Gabriel Tandi, the pioneering first-generation sculptor who began carving without formal instruction, laying the foundation for what would become a celebrated artistic legacy. Kuda is the grandson of Thomas Tandi and the son of renowned sculptor Tafadzwa Tandi, whose exceptional skill and reputation have inspired Kuda’s own creative journey.
Kuda began carving in 2022, deeply influenced by his father’s passion and mastery of the craft. Despite being at the early stages of his career, he is already creating impressive and expressive works that hint at a promising future in the world of sculpture. With a particular fondness for working with hard stone, Kuda embraces the challenges of this demanding medium, striving to refine his technical ability and artistic voice with each new piece.
